When removed correctly, a quality vinyl wrap or paint protection film should not damage factory paint. We use professional techniques, controlled heat, and specialised products to safely remove the material while minimising the risk of damage. If the vehicle has had previous paintwork or repairs, we’ll inspect it first and discuss any potential risks before starting.
The time required depends on the age, condition, and quality of the wrap or film. Newer installations can often be removed relatively quickly, while older wraps that have become brittle or heavily bonded may take significantly longer. Most vehicles can be completed within a day, but we’ll provide an accurate estimate after inspecting your vehicle.
It’s common for some adhesive residue to remain, especially on older wraps or films. As part of our removal process, we carefully remove any leftover adhesive and clean the surface thoroughly. Once complete, your paintwork will be ready for polishing, paint correction, ceramic coating, a new wrap, or simply returning to its original finish.
Paint correction is the process of removing imperfections from your vehicle’s paintwork, such as swirl marks, light scratches, oxidation, water spots, and hazing. Using professional machine polishing techniques, the paint is levelled & refined to restore clarity, depth, and gloss.
Ceramic and graphene coatings are advanced forms of paint protection designed to bond to your vehicle’s surfaces and provide long-term protection, gloss, and easier maintenance. They create a durable protective layer over the paint that helps defend against UV damage, dirt, water spotting, bird droppings, and chemical contaminants.
Both ceramic and graphene coatings are premium forms of paint protection that provide long-term durability, gloss, hydrophobic properties, and easier vehicle maintenance. The main difference comes down to the technology and performance characteristics.
Ceramic coatings are the industry standard and are known for:
Deep gloss and shine
Excellent water beading
Strong chemical and UV protection
Long-lasting durability
Graphene coatings are a newer evolution of coating technology and are designed to offer:
Improved heat resistance
Reduced water spotting
Enhanced slickness
Increased durability in some conditions
In real-world use, both provide excellent protection and appearance when professionally applied. The biggest factor is often the quality of the preparation and installation rather than simply choosing ceramic vs graphene. A properly installed coating will always outperform a poorly applied one, regardless of the product used.
Yes — many new vehicles arrive with swirl marks, dealership wash damage, transport contamination, or minor imperfections from factory handling. A new car paint correction ensures the paint is perfected before applying long-term protection like ceramic or graphene coatings.
We use professional grade ceramic & graphene coatings which are significantly harder than factory clear coats. This reduces the chances or general washing induced swirls but are not scratch proof. They mainly protect against UV damage, chemical stains, dirt buildup, and make the vehicle much easier to clean.
A standard interior & exterior detail usually takes anywhere from 4–6 hours depending on the size and condition of the vehicle. Ceramic coating packages generally take 1–2 days, as the paint needs to be properly prepared and the coating requires curing time for the best results.
Depending on the coating used and how the vehicle is maintained, ceramic coatings can last anywhere from 2–7+ years. Regular maintenance washes and proper care help maximise the lifespan and performance of the coating.
We recommend hand washing using a pH-neutral car shampoo, quality microfiber wash mitts, and proper wash techniques. Avoid automatic car washes where possible, as they can introduce swirl marks and reduce the coating’s performance over time.
Modern vehicle paint systems are delicate and expensive to repair if damaged. We understands paint thickness, polishing techniques, lighting inspection, and proper product selection to safely achieve the best results without causing unnecessary damage.
When performed correctly by a trained professional, paint correction is completely safe. It removes only a microscopic amount of clear coat to level out imperfections. We quality machines, high quality products and safe polishing methods to preserve the integrity of your paintwork.
If you’ve made it this far, you’re probably someone who takes pride in your car. I’m exactly the same. I’ve always been obsessed with keeping vehicles looking their best, and that’s what led me to start WetFX Detailing over 8 years ago.
I’m a one-man operation, which means when you contact WetFX, you’re talking directly to me. No sales staff, no subcontractors, and no surprises. From the first message to the final handover, I’m the person looking after your vehicle.
While I’m easy-going with people, I’m extremely particular when it comes to the work. Every vehicle gets the same level of care and attention to detail I’d expect if it were my own. Whether it’s paint correction, ceramic coatings, detailing or removing vinyl wraps or PPF, I take pride in doing the job properly rather than rushing through it.
Over the years I’ve had the privilege of working on everything from daily drivers to high-end performance cars, and there’s nothing better than seeing a customer’s reaction when they see their vehicle transformed.
If you’re looking for someone who genuinely cares about your car, takes pride in their work, and is easy to deal with, I’d love to help.
